Stain Concrete Floors Yourself

When you have a few hours free in the weekend, then you have lots of time to stain concrete floors yourself. This do-it-yourself project can result in floors you can be very satisfied with. When using an acid based stain you'll be getting a floor which is virtually maintenance free. Mit reaction between the minerals inside the floor and the acid within the stain make it therefore the color will not fade when confronted with the elements, and will not peel from heavy visitors. -stained_concrete-

If this is the first time you'll be staining concrete floors yourself, this might be a good idea to purchase an all-inclusive concrete staining kit. These kits contain nearly all you need to get started, and many even come with a step-by-step guide on how to perform whole process.

You shouldn't be intimidated with this particular project, even if you are using an acid based stain. This is a great job for both new and experienced do-it-yourselfers to dive into. The important thing to working with acid, even a low level acid as with the stain, is usually to take all the proper precautions for safety. This includes wearing thick shoes, long pants, long sleeves, rubber gloves, and splash guard goggles.
Be sure you read up on process in advance, so you have an idea how it works before you start. If you are using a kit you do not need to worry about purchasing all the various materials, but if you don't then make sure all of them work together. By this I mean don't use anything but a sealer that is recommended by the company who makes your stain. Quite often the company you buy your stain from are able to offer you both of these items together.

There is absolutely no reason for you to have ugly concrete surfaces any longer. With just a few hours of efforts you can have beautiful floors that folks will mistake for very costly stone. -stained_concrete-
